A Day Without Shoes April 7, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — pennypinchfashion @ 2:24 pm

Tomorrow April 8, 2010 TOMS shoes is sponsoring a worldwide  event known as  “A Day Without Shoes.” The concept of the day is to raise money and awareness of those children in developing countries who live their day-to-day lives with out shoes. The TOMS Shoes company is known for their philanthropic behavior of giving a free pair of shoes to a child in need for each and every pair of shoes that is sold.  You probably remember Blake, the creator of TOMS Shoes from the AT&T commercials.

For most of us, especially you women, we own more shoes than we can count on our fingers. So why not take a day to support this great cause by going to class without shoes.

If you are interested in finding out more or want to purchase a pair of TOMS Shoes yourself here is the website:  TOMS Shoes

Blake also blogs about his adventures and causes. Feel free to follow his blogs by subscribing here: Blake Mycoskie Blog

Chic Spending out there,

I really like the fact that you shared this! I never would have known otherwise, but sadly participation would not be an option for tomorrow. Although, if you do participate please watch where you are walking (especially when crossing streets)!

I definitely remember Blake from the commercials cause philanthropic boys are hot! (You hear that boys?)

Great job of using this blog to show how fashion touches on deeper issues. Global awareness never goes out of style.
