Here’s a link from The New York Times to help form your opinion on if fashion matters. Check it out: Does Fashion Matter?
I completely agree with Linds! Yes, I run around campus looking like a bum most of the time, but you have to dress what your environment calls for. If you’re a college student and dressed up, people always will ask what the special occasion is! But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try to look our best even in a t-shirt and jeans. Thanks to your blog and the comment of the fabulous Linds, maybe I will change my ways!
Absolutely fashion matters!!!
It can be a tremendous statement of who you are or who you’re trying to be.
Europeans get it…they don’t even run to the grocery store without what we consider “dressing up.” The Italian have a figure of speech called, bella figura. Basically it means “good impression.” Translation? They wouldn’t be caught dead in sweatpants…even running to the market. Who knows who you might see!
A lot of times you feel how you dress. A well tailored suit makes you feel powerful in a business setting while a frilly, feminine dress makes you feel flirty on a date.
It was Coco Chanel who said ” A woman is closest to being naked when she is well dressed.” I think that pretty much sums it up.
